Our staff work on a wide variety of industries including, but not limited to, manufacturing, distribution, construction, professional services, technology startups and high net worth family offices. Training is provided both formally upon hire, as well as consistently while on the job. Every intern has a Partner as well as a buddy assigned who will ensure that you are enjoying your experience at Miller Cooper. Client Accounting Staff spend time at client sites and also in our office working remotely for clients. There is little to no out of town travel. Approximately 95% of our client base is located in Chicagoland, so overnight travel is very limited and employees maintain a great work/life balance. We also offer all employees the choice to work in either one of our offices- Chicago or Deerfield.


Responsibilities:

  • Participate (under supervision) in assisting clients with their ongoing internal accounting including but not limited to month end closing procedures, analysis of internally generated financial statements, and cash flow and forecast analyses
  • Identify/bring to the attention of job superiors additional services that Miller Cooper can provide to clients
  • Other duties as assigned, such as special projects, monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Stay up to date on procedures, governmental regulations, AICPA and CPA society rules, FASB and other authoritative literature

Experience and Skills:

Required Experience:

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Minimum GPA: 3.2 or higher
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexibility to adapt to new situations
  • Excellent skills in prioritization
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team environment
  • Daily access to a vehicle to drive to clients
